Q: Which would you rahter buy and why - the new 2007 VW Rabbit or a new 2007 Mini Cooper?
A: The Mini Cooper looks like it would get caught in the grooves of a truck's tires. I don't trust the safety issue due to its very small size. They're cute, but ...
I'd go for the VW
.

Q: How much for my 2007 VW Rabbit?
I’m looking to sell my 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit (2 door, manual transmission, 20k miles, purchased new December 2006) and am look for an idea as to how much I can expect to receive for it? Although it is in very good condition, my wife actually had an accident in it about 12 months ago. There was no internal damage, the car just required some new bodywork. Everything now appears as new and we have had no problems with it since. I presume that we will have to declare that the car has been in an accident to any potential buyers? How will this affect its sell-on value? Also, we are considering getting a quote from Carmax- how much can we expect to get from them (I imagine a lot less than selling privately)?
Any advice would be much appreciated. My wife and I are both from the UK (we are about to move back there, hence the need to sell our car!) and so neither are familiar with selling cars in the US. Thanks!
A: was it a salvage title, or just been in an accident.
Usually, if its a salvage title, go on kbb.com, press in the stuff on your car, get private party value and divide that in half, and you'll get the value of your car.
If its been in an accident, i'd say around 30-40% less than what you would've gotten for it if it was in perfect condition.
expect around 9-14k for it.
Q: 2007 VW Rabbit 2 door vs. 4 door which one is better to trick out?
A: I Love trick questions... 2 door is what you pick Unless you need more rear leg room for Riders or you need more space for your Stereo System and remove rear handles....
Good Luck.... I Like the GTI.....
Q: anybody know what is the 0-60 of 2007 vw jetta and 2007 vw rabbit?
A: About 9 seconds on the Rabbit, 'bout the same for the Jetta unless you get the more potent 2.0 litre Turbo.
Q: Will a 2007 vw jetta front end fit on a 2007 rabbit?
A: Yes, both cars are the same vehicle from the rear doors-forward.
You don't have to do anything special and in my opinion, the Jetta grill looks awesome on the Rabbit.
Q: VW Rabbit Reliability?
I am seriously considering buying a new 2007 VW Rabbit. Any thoughts on the reliability? I need a car that will last a very long time and give few problems. Thanks!
A: i own a repair shop, and take it from a mechanic,,its going to spend some time at a shop,i think all of these cars after 50 thousand have brake down meter in them,,i get a lot that just give problems,, ordinary cars don't give, like brakes ,,engine mis-fires,,things getting loose on them and just a lot of problems in general,,,but for the most part of it,,people who own them still really like them,,i like them too,,they bring me money in,,but you may have better luck than some have,,good luck with it,,hope this help,s.
Q: why didnt side airbags deploy vw rabbit?
me and brother were on the freeway i seen somethings in the fast last moved over a little in the gravel and their was also something in the gravel that made the whole car spin accross 4 lanes 65mph to the other side and knock over 2 poles, flipped 2 times over a fence and landed on my side (DRIVER) right into a wall of rocks. then the car was kind of sidewayz while on 4 wheels, my door was jammed and the front airbags did deploy but i had to climb out the window my side was crushed... its a vw 2007 rabbit and the side airbags did not deploy. can vw be sued or at least put in a complaint???
i suffered a concussion, lost consciousness, cut head, side and all over arms neck hurts bad and so does back. my brother is on crutches, his leg is real bad bleeding all over his shorts and big knot on his head with back injury
yes im very happy to be alive and i want vw to make sure those bags deploy for others safety
A: I'm sorry for your accident and hope both you and your brother recover well.
The previous post is absolutely correct. There are very critical conditions for deployments and it sounds like you did not meet them. Most vehicles that begin a spin eliminate the directional inertia needed to deploy the airbags.
Your vehicle does not have a roll-over sensor, only some SUV's have that. the side impact sensors for your care are on the floor under the front seats and over the rear wheel well next to the the rear seats. If they do not feel an impact simultaneously with the control unit located in the console area, your airbags will not deploy.
Questions like this are asked and answered all the time here. There are specific criteria that need to be met to activate a deployment. Check out this website for the EXACT answers to your questions including the blog specific to your concern. This site tells you exactly what needs to happen for the airbags to deploy and what needs to be replaced (seat belts & all) on over 3500 cars after they do.

Q: VW Rabbit Hatchback?
How do you open the hatchback on a 2007 VW Rabbit? I'm renting one and I can't figure out how to open it.
Excellent! Thanks!
A: On the hatch in the centre is the vw badge, Push the top of the vw badge in, once you can hook your fingers on the bottom of it keep pulling the badge up and it should open. Don't forget to double click the central locking to unlock it.
Q: how to make my VW rabbit faster?
ok so i drive a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit, 2.5L I5 150 hp, and i love it, but i really want to make it faster, any suggestions and i really don't want to spend let's say more than 4 to 500 dollars on it
A: Cold Air Intake : Auto Zone, 70 dollars - 5-8 horsepower
Aftermarket 2.5" Muffler - 100-250 dollars - ~10 horsepower
(install both CAI and Muffler w/high flow cat about 20 HP total)
Lets say you have installed a Cold Air Intake and a Muffler with a high flow cat. Your around 400 dollars.
Send your ECU out to get reflashed- about 100 dollars, good power gains from 10 - 40 depending what other modifications you have.
Also, FEDERAL LAW prohibits the warranty from becoming voided if you install any aftermarket parts. Unless the manufacturer can without a doubt prove that the part you installed caused the damage. So.. man with the great brain doesn't know what he's talking about. You wont have to replace your axles, I've never heard of that... for just about 500 dollars, you can boost the horsepower anywhere from 20 - 50 HP by doing the work yourself.
Also, use common sence when upgrading your vehicle.

Q: How to sell a brand new car with too many problems?
We bought a 2007 VW Rabbit, clutch burned out at 14,000 and came back to us with alignment problems, CD player has scratchy sound quality at times, sales/service/customer relations departments are rude and refuse to work with us and we just want to sell the car without damaging credit. Still a big loan to pay off, as car was financed for 7 years when we bought it. Haven't even owned the car a full year! Any suggestions?
A: The car probably isnt worth as much as you paid for it - depending on how much you put down on it and what your interest payment is.
I would keep it for another year if I were you and try to pay down your debt.
Until then maybe take it to another VW dealership for service, if that is possible.
Q: Ok so i am in the process of buying my first car, a VW Rabbit, from Charles Maund in Austin.?
This is my first car from a dealership, and I've had so many people give me all the tips but I want to hear what yall have to think. It's 2007 for 15,000! Any Advice will help!
A: Just keep in mind, with a car that new, you're really going to get slammed with the depreciation. Just signing the papers and driving it off the lot will cost you thousands of dollars. If you can afford it and don't mind the cost, fine. But if you get a car that's at least 2-3 years old, you'll still get something in good condition that's not going to break for a long time, and someone else will have eaten the worst of the depreciation.
Q: Modifying car exhaust?
I drive a 2007 VW Rabbit 2.5L and have been doing some research and have decided to mod my exhaust. I have seen a couple of videos on You Tube where owners have left their stock exhaust and just simply removed the center resonator...
Does anyone know the legality of this? Or how hard this is to do?
A: I did this on my 1.8T and it made a subtle difference. At idle and traffic driving, it was still quiet. When you get on it, you notice the difference.
Q: Car race tips?
My uncle challenged me to a car race. He just bought a 2008 Mazda 3 and went on some speech where my 2007 Rabbit was crap compared to his Ford.. ummm... I mean Mazda :P.
We agreed on keeping our cars stock (no racing tires or engine mods).
Now my question is.. Can I beat this guy? If so, what can I do to win it? Stratagies, tips... anything relavant helps.
My friend told me by reducing weight in the car I can make the car go faster so I will remove my spare tire (its a full size tire). Anything else from that I think would be cheating.
He has a 2008 Mazda 3 GT 2.3L 156 HP 150 TQ 4Cyl 16 valves
I have a 2007 VW Rabbit 2.5L 5Cyl 150HP 170TQ 20 valves
I have a 5 speed man tranny
He has a 6 speed auto with tiptronic tranny
A: You have way more control over your RPMs, Just keep winding it up to the very top, and you should beat him.
Weight loss is a good idea, don't fill up completely before the race.
What type of race is it? Are you on a track? 1/4 mile? Full lap?
That has a bearing too, every VW I have ever driven does really well around corners.
Don't burn out off the line.
