A: Get a Haynes manual for your car. Easier to read than Chilton and you can get them for just about any car. They have them at Half Priced Books and other bookstores for a lower price but they will tell you just about anything you need to know about your car.

A: its not cheap. just buy seats at your local salvage yard. Its a lot cheaper.
Q: Why is my VW Jetta slipping out of gear?
Hi. I have a 2002 VW Jetta 1.8Turbo. Automatic Transmission. Ive had a problem a few times this week where the car slips out of gear while driving on the highway. The RPMs rev up, but the car slows down. I simply shift it into neutral and back a few times and this fixes it. Ive been taking it to the dealer for regular maintenance so I assume they have been checking transmission fluid, but not positive. Don't see any leaks underneath the car. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
A: VW's are very complicated little cars. Not likely to be low on fluid, unless the transmission is slipping and sending burned fluid out of the vent. There are many things that can cause problems that may seem like a transmission problem, but really isn't. Go back to the dealer for a proper diagnosis. Good Luck

A: quarter panel remove and replace job is complicated and not for untrained persons..they get replaced if they are so mangled that it takes longer hours to fill w/ body filler that to replace it ..hope you get what i mean..my sugestion ..take it to a body shop

A: European cars rev higher than American cars. Higher compression, and different gearing.

I drive a 2001 VW Jetta GLX. I just bought the car pretty recently I noticed that there is a button with ASR on it placed prominently on the dash. Hitting the button lights it up and also lights up an icon next to the speedometer (its a yellow colored icon which has a circle around an exclamation mark)
What does this ASR button do and should I leave it on or leave it off?
A: The Anti Slip Regulator stops power to the wheels when they spin,
The asr is designed to be turned off only when you require the wheels to spin at low speed EG: when you are on snow or ice - as the asr will stop the power to the wheels if they start spinning you would never get anywhere, Over 20mph the asr is not active and serves no function.

HI does anybody known anything about taking out am\fm radios in a 00 vw jetta and how to replace it with a new one and how do i get the radio Code for the new Radio and does the face plate come off the front of the radio
A: You need special tool to remove the factory radio! If you don't have them it will not come out! No the face does not come off the factory radio! The new radio will come with a 4 digit pin number that will have to be logged into the radio to get it off safe mode! But for you old Radio if it goes to safe mode ! there is a serial number on the right hand side of the radio. usually starts with wvwz4,,,,, . Get this number and poss. you vin and call the dealer and they will be able to give you your radio code! But there again if you don't havr the proper tools to remove the radio you kind screwed! Hope this helps!
Q: Can some other key making store make a key for my vw jetta or only dealer can?
I have a 2000 vw jetta and don't have a key for it and dealer said only they can make it. I saw whole bunch of pre cut keys so i was thinking some store can cut it for me. Just maybe someone did it before and please let me know if the key will start the car or only the one that dealer will make!!! Thanks
A: No, the dealer is right. Those keys have chips in them that need to be synced to your car so that it will only work for yours. They can be quit pricey but it really is the only option. Sorry
