Q: VW Trade-in figures?
Im looking to part exchange a VW 2007 plate Golf Match 1.6 FSI. Mint condition no damage what so ever. Grey in colour with everything as standard. 22K on the clock and full history. How much would I get for it if I traded it for a car costing £11,000, Im downgrading slightly and need to know asap! Ive got roughly 8K I'd need to take on credit.

A: Checking here; http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-prices/Valuation.aspx?deriv=35570&plate=84 and allowing for the mileage, I'd say you'd be offered around £10,000 for your Golf: This means that if you found a sympathetic dealer, they may ask for £1000 plus your car against an £11,000 motor: I assume you're looking at cash the other way?

Q: how can I get rid of car loan?
I bought a car back in january.... 2007 VW golf..... I am getting married next year and moving overseas so I need to get rid of it and by then I will still owe a relative large amount of money on it. What is my best option to get rid of the loan and the car??

A: The only real option is to sell the car and then pay off the difference. If you are only moving next year you have a fair bit of time to do this.

Q: what car do you have and how do you like like it?
i have got a 2007 VW golf GTI in black with black tinted windows, black and red bucket seats, rage intake + exaust systems, and Black TSW 19" alloy wheels and i love it to pieces

A: Daily driver is a 2007 MAZDASPEED3 GT. It's silver, and I am not too stoked on that. I average over 25MPG while enjoying every second I drice the thing. Wish i could afford the MAZDASPEED light weight rims. SOoon to have an intake and exhaust added. In 2 years should have my 1968 Dodge Charger completed. I cannot wait until I have the 440 complete and it will move under its own power.

Q: 18000 pounds what mods can I put on my car?
it is a VW GOLF R32 (2007) turbos, superchargers, induction, exaust kits or anything that will make it faster or sound nice. also aftermarket visual mods like Window tint, spoilers, alloy wheels, racing seats neons etc... websites or advice please... thank you

A: super charger, headers, exhaust, intake, fuel pumps, new pipes. visual suspension lower it, tint, sounds , rims, lip kit turbo charger with blow off valve would be less horsepower, but sounds sick and will give u enough hp for u

Q: how much is my car worth?
its a 2007 VW Golf GTI ...flame red ...flappy panel tittronic gearbox thingy ...racing GTI seats ...19" VW RIMS ...Intergrated sat nav (very expensive) ...6000 miles ...no M.O.T till 2010 ...taxed till august 08 ...1 lady owner ...perfect bodywork

A: Quite a bit. Kelly Blue Book, and find out, although they don't have options for all the add-ons you have installed. If you want to find a rough estimate, add up the prices of everything you have put on/in the car, and add the price of the car when new. Take that number and subtract approximately $3-5000 for depreciation, and maybe another thousand or so for the amount of miles.

Q: What car do you have - and do you like it?
i have a 2007 VW GOLF R32 and i love it

A: R33 Nissan Skyline Spec 2 and yes def love it although cost me a fortune to run and maintain, but worth every penny. Pic below. http://www.motoraddicts.com/imgfilestore/00/04/56/88/00056620_med.jpg

Q: I am moving from the UK to Florida in Late 2007. What cars shall I buy?
I run a business in the UK supplying all different new cars but what US ones should I consider. I need a cheap new run around under $20,000. I was thinking a JEEP COMPASS, DODGE NITRO or a car I am more familiar with VW GOLF GTI. Any suggestions please, and once I am settled I will be looking for a performance car under $50,000 must be convertible. Are the prices listed on manufacturers websites negotiable in Florida like they are in the UK? The person who thinks it would be more expensive to live in florida than the uk must be crazy! You must live in Wales or someplace where property looks like a Romanian orphanage. We are doing over with cash and my business is staying here and I am operating it from over there. Cost of living in London is ridiculous, I pay congestion charge every day get taxed 40% of my earnings live in a small 3 bedroom house that I paid £500,000 for thats nearly $1,000,000!

A: Prices are negotiable on most vehicles. The hottest lines right now are Toyota and Honda. You probably won't have much negotiating room on them -- and a few even sell at a premium such as the Toyota Prius. Give a second thought on the Nitro. It's a new line and Daimler-Chrysler doesn't have a very good quality record over all and even worse with new models. Golfs are now sold as Rabbits (again) on this side of the pond. Dumb name. Jettas are doing well, but they're pricey. For under $20k, check out a Honda Civic to get you started. Dead reliable and cheap to operate. Then decide what you want to do once you get settled and get familiar with what's available here.

Q: Which car would you rather be sitting in in a crash. Both doing 40mph head on?
A 1997 VW Golf .... Or A 2007 Vauxhall Corsa

A: Would far rather be in an S-class Merc to be honest, but out of those two, the Corsa's a much newer design and despite being slightly smaller, probably has better crash protection than the much older Golf.

Q: What is the difference between driving a Diesel car to a Petrol car.?
I have been learning since October 2007 in a Diesel car. I keep hearing that it is more difficult to drive a Petrol with something to do with the clutch but the VW Golf I would like is available in both Petrol and Diesel. What are the differences and what would you reccommend I do?

A: I'd recommend a diesel. Relaxed driving, shift when and if you feel like it, get excellent mpg haul if you need to, manouver using just the clutch, will run on anything that burns, very reliable. On the downside: more noise, expensive to buy, suffers short hauls, badly used cars may be expensive to repair.

Q: Why Call a GTI a Golf? It's Not a Golf.?
Why not call a GTI MKV a "Rabbit" if you want to go down that ridiculous path? There are 3 distinct models by VW: Rabbit, Golf and GTI. The GTI and the Golf are 2 seperate models. The correct phrase to use when referring to a GTI in the current model year would be "2007 Volkswagen GTI MKV". Did you notice there was no reference to "Golf" in there?

A: the format of the name is simple.. maker..model..edtion The Volkswagen Golf (Mark 1 and Mark 5 badged as Volkswagen Rabbit in the United States and Canada, Caribe in Mexico) gti means "grand tourer injection".. and vw made polo gti's and sirocco gti's too'' but you have to look at the facts here! if you go to the volkswagen uk site and type in "volkswagen gti" you can't look at one.. the search only comes up with "volkswagen golf gti" so if you can't find it on their own site then your not going to! the propper name for the car is vw golf gti... trust me i have 3 and my brother has one thats 2 months old..lol

Q: VW Rear Brake Wear Faster than Front?
I owned a 2002 volkswagen golf and replaced all 4 brakes at something like 50000km. I have a 2007 rabbit and they just told me that the rear brakes were at 50% and the front were at 90% - after about 16000km. The last time I checked, the laws of physics still apply, and I questioned this - especially because I had been smelling burning in the rear area and was advised by my tire guy that there was the smell of burning brakes when he put on my winter tires at about 5000km (I took it directly to the dealer to have them check and they said nothing was wrong)... They proceeded to tell me that the rear brakes *always* go first. So I inquired some more, explaining politely that everyone always says: 2 front brakes to 1 rear brake, and I just want to confirm: Has VW made their rear brake pads thinner and smaller since 2003? This is the only explanation that obeys the laws of physics other than "sticking" of my rear brakes. I cannot seem to find any info on this anywhere. Thanks!

A: Check your parking brake, might not be releasing fully or is half way. You should get a light on the dash if they are on, but it could be the calipers are not releasing fully or the cable is jammed and not releasing fully.
