Q: Why does my dealer want to buy my 1 year old car back so badly?
I've been getting letters in the mail from my dealer offering me to attend an event where they'll evaluate my car and buy it back.
They say they are in "immediate need to acquire several pre-owned 2007 VW Beetle in order to fulfill specific requests for these high demand vehicles."
I'll call them tomorrow to see what this is all about and for which car can I trade it... it's just that I'm just too curious right now.
A: its a common tactic to bring you in to the dealership and buy another car! example: would you come in if i sent you a letter saying i want to sell you a car? MAYBE! but in this letter i show interest in something you got. and its successful cause in got your attention and curiosity. good luck
Q: Is a VW Beetle a safe car?
This is my dream car. I used to collect models of them as a kid and I can't take mind off of them! My husband said they have no crumple zone, so if I got into an accident, I could get seriously hurt. He is totally against me getting one. Right now, I have a 2007 Honda Civic Sedan. I like it, but I really love the Beetle. What do you think?
A: Time marches on & cars get redesigned. So issues of safety vary from model to model.
The original beetle could float. That's right ... imagine a flood ... all the other cars sink to the bottom & drown the occupants, while the VW beetles float to wherever the water is going.

Ultimately you have to decide what's most important to your heart ... keeping peace with husband, or finding out whether or not he is correct about safety issues & then whether or not you can convince him that the problems have been solved.
Now it is true that on the nation's highways, when a big car has a collision with a small car, the occupants of the big car are safer. So if you have kids, their safety is more assured if they are in a gas guzzling SUV than in an economy sedan. There are many trade-offs to consider.
Q: If i won a free car from a store, what would i be paying?
Theres a store in my area, and they are giving a way a free 2007 VW New Beetle drawing. I want to know how much would I be paying in tax, title and registration fees? The cost of this car off the lot would be $18-19k maybe $20k but not sure. Also will that be all I would be paying or more...

A: The reason most people would call it gay is because it's seen as a girl's car. Most girls I know like it because to them it's "cute". An alternate for about the same price would be the MINI Cooper. It's just as small but not as "gay".
If you can afford it and don't like being called gay, try going for the higher performing models behind each car. Like the the Volkswagen Beetle Turbo (turbocharged, duh) or the Mini Cooper S (supercharged).

Q: Playing burned CD is a volkswagon beetle?

I have a 2007 VW bug and I'm having issues playing mixed cds I've burned from my computer. I've tried converting everything to mp3 first but nothing seems to be working. I play normal CDs just fine and the burned CDs will play in my home stereos. Any ideas??

A: Not much cheaper. They haven't changed the body style or options at all between the 06 and the 07 other than the 'under hood fire lining'.
The best thing to do is research what others in your area are paying and know exactly what you are willing to spend and haggle. That is key.
Q: how do i end the registration?
we bought a vw beetle in 2005 and we returned to the bank in 2007. but we have not finished paying off the car. we were unable to make payments, so we surrender the vehicle to the bank. recently i've got letters from the DMV about registration stuff and i don't know how to end the registration of the vehicle that is in my mom's name. i was thinking of filling out a transfer form but i dont who/what to put as transfer to. pls help.
i also dont know what form i should fill out.

I have a 2007 Honda Civic with 29,000 miles. There is nothing wrong with it and I bought it new. I owe $15,632.62. I would like to get maybe a VW Beetle. I have always wanted a beetle since being a little kid and while the civic has been good to me, I feel like its time I get what I really want.

sukbunny, what you said makes sense. Approximately, how much would I get for the civic?
A: You can trade it in whenever you want, but it will cost you money. You won't get what you owe for your current car, so the negative equity will be rolled into your new loan, which increases your payment. That will just make you even more upside down on the VW. Just keep the Civic...it's a much better car than a Beetle anyway.
Try Edmunds.com..do an appraisal of your car with all the option included. I'm guessing in the $12000 range on the trade-in, but that's just an educated guess.
